Colourful sowing in autumn
Rooftop gardening
October 07, 2010
I always discover new plants that I would like to grow every year... but in the rooftop the space is limited, and this require some hard choices and a bit of planning.
This year I choose to grow many new plants instead of old, safe ones... I hope I will not regret this!
I love the colour variations: purple basil, yellow tomatoes, white aubergines, orange bell peppers...
This is the Radish Watermelon, that should be red-purple on the inside.

I've already growed successfully the yellow carrots, so I tried more. This is a newborn Cosmic Purple carrot, and I also sowed white carrots and rounded Tonda di Parigi Carrots.

Other colourful seedlings: Rainbow chard (on the left) and Rhubarb chard.
These are newborn Yellow strawberry plants, but I have to wait for months to see them show their true colors (read the post yellow strawberries).
I also sow some old classics too, like the bok choi or tatsoi, that soon will be in my salads...
…and the winter radish black, that I enjoy every winter.
