My pregnancy is in the so called 'blooming' period, and my plants are blooming too.
Tiny or giant, some flowers die after a day, others are harvested... and all are beautiful.

Thai BasilThai basil flowers are big and rounded, and their color is stunning. I used this for Grilled Tuna Salad


DandelionDandelion is a very useful plant. Leaves can't be eaten in summer, so I use them for compost because they're rich in minerals. These flowers were the 'touch of color' in a tomato salad with calamint.


Cinnamon BasilCinnamon Basil smells wonderful, and I used it in the Chocolate and Cinnamon Basil Patties.


OreganoAnother aromatic herb, this oregano bloom is more than 50 cm long.
It's harvest time!


FlowersI forget the name of these flowers, my parents planted them 30 years ago. The older bulbs have been there since then, and they bloom every summer.


NasturtiumThis is my first nasturtium flower. Today it was already dead, but I'm waiting for others.
Even nasturtium can be eaten, but I choose to let it grow instead of harvest it.

I fiori di cui non ricordi il nome sono gladioli: mio padre ne pianta ancora tanti ogni anno nell orto.
Ma come fai ad avere tutte le aromatiche così in gran forma?!!! La mia è una lotta continua contro le cicaline che si risucchiano origano, maggiorana, menta e tutte le altre...è che non voglio usare veleni e le soluzioni bio (aceto e marsiglia, quassia, olio di pino) tamponano solo...ma io resisto!! Il tuo blog è sempre piacevolissimo!

Ciao Elisa, ogni anno aggiusto il tiro per quanto riguarda le piante, cambio esposizione, cultivar, periodo di semina... Il bello è anche questo, sperimentare e imparare.
E il segreto è... la legge dei grandi numeri!
