Cinnamon BasilThis year I'm growing some basil varieties, exploring many recipes with them. Cinnamon basil, with is incredible scent, it's really good as an herbal tea and this recipe is perfect for its cinnamon flavour.

Chocolate and cinnamon basil patties


Ingredients
220g plain flour or manitoba flour (Canadian flour)
1 tsp. baking powder
50g sugar
250ml milk
200g milk chocolate
1 sprig of cinnamon basil, with flowers

Directions
Combine the manitoba flour, sugar and melted butter.
Dissolve the baking powder in the milk and add to the batter.
Spoon the batter into 12 well-buttered muffin moulds and bake in preheated 200° C (392 F) oven 20 minutes. Remove the patties from the pan.
Melt milk chocolate, then remove from the heat.
Spoon melted chocolate on to each pattie, sprinkle with cinnamon basil and let cool.

They look delicious, but what is manitoba flour? or is there an equivalent such as wholemeal?

I love the chocolate and flower decoration! I d like to find some of this basil: the smell must be incredible.

Sage: Manitoba flour is a plain flour from North America, I think it s the Canadian flour as I add to the post.
You can use your favourite muffin/cake flour.

Simona: Yes the smell was incredible and they tasted good too!

These are beautiful. I am from Canada and have nevere heard of Manitoba flour. I guess they just call it All Purpose here.
