Recipe: Pesto without garlic pasta
Sauces, dressings and dips with herbs
October 24, 2012
I realized I have spoken several times of the pesto without garlic that I prepared this summer, but I never posted the recipe until now.
I used different varieties of basil, mainly lettuce leaf basil, but also lemon basil and cinnamon basil.
I love pesto but I don't like raw garlic, so I replaced it with a bunch of fresh chives and chives garlic.
I also added some sunflower seeds, but you can replace them with the more traditional pine nuts.

30g basili
10g chives and/or chives garlic
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
30ml olive oil
For the pasta:
180g spaghetti
2 zucchini, sliced and fried
grated salted ricotta (or other hard cheese of your choice)
Directions
Mince basil and chives with a blender, then add olive oil and sunflower seeds and mince again.
Season the cooked pasta with the pesto, fried zucchini slices and grated cheese.
