October gardening tips: Autumn harvest
Harvest and Store
October 30, 2011
I sowed many plants on the rooftop during September, most of the seeds have sprouted and are now ready to be harvested.
These are French Breakfast radishes, crisp and tasty and almost without pungency.
From left: komatsuna, mizuna and semposai, sweet tender leaves from plants extraordinarily productive. We are eating them fresh in salads and sandwiches, but they can also be stir-fried.
Some of the plants sown in the spring are still alive and I'm harvesting also the last bell peppers, tomatoes and eggplant.
Radishes: 120g
Tomatoes, bell peppers, aubergines: 190g
Semposai, komatsuna, mizuna: 90g
Total 400 g
This harvest joins to Harvest Mondays.
