Meat and poultry recipes with spices and herbs
February 11, 2010
My partner ask me often to prepare the pork spare ribs, marinated with onions and mustard seeds.
Hey, they will never win the Light and Healthy Food prize, but they're a real treat.
Pork spare ribs with mustard seeds
Ingredients
1 onion
2 clove garlic
1 chili pepper
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp tabasco
2 tbsp black mustard seeds
1 tbsp honey
40ml cider
1 tbsp apple vinegar
600g pork ribs
Directions
Cut onion into thin slices, mince garlic and chili.
Fry them with the oil for five minutes and remove from heat.
Add tabasco sauce, mustard seeds, honey, cider, apple vinegar and mix well.
Marinade the ribs in this mixture for two hours (or all night long).
Remove from the marinade and bake in preheated 180° C (356 F) oven 30 minutes.
Pour the marinade on the ribs and bake another 30 minutes.
Serve with roasted apples and ovenbaked potatoes.
